Auriel - The Burning Justice
Character creation and development for a personal project focused on the Literary Area (characters and book covers) and Game Design
Auriel is part of a personal project in development that portrays a world full of monsters and magical creatures in a universe at war divided between the Eternal Fire and the Dark Void.
She is a character with an important role in the history of Wallfir. Daughter of Mor-Om, the magnanimous, she was born from the will of servitude to the primordial Flame, with the aim of protecting the so-called "Children of the Mud" during the ancient War of the Winged Beasts.

Auriel is an angelic being with great beauty perceived not only through her physical appearance but also through her delicate actions and gestures, which, while demonstrating lightness, also carry immense power and colossal strength, fundamental points that ensured the victory of her allies in every battle she participated in... Including the one that claimed her life.
As she is responsible for guarding the "Divine Flame" sword, for controlling the most powerful pyromantic abilities, and also for being a "celestial" with a high level of beauty, the character's design needed to convey the sensation of "burning beauty": Her hair is as red as fire and her armor is completely molded in "celestial gold."

"She soared with grace and might,
Championing justice, fearlessly, day and night.
A sight to marvel at, behold,
A guardian shining, radiant and bold.
With dauntless valor and bravery,
Auriel brandishes fire, the Protector's legacy.
The flames dance untamed and free,
Her sword ablaze, a rapturous symphony.
Oh, beauty unmatched, celestial allure,
Even in departure, triumphant and pure.
She ventured forth, yet her light remains,
The Golden Lady, eternal strength that sustains."
After Auriel's disappearance, a sacred statue was forged with parts of her armor found on the battlefield. Being partially made with celestial gold, the statue has a miraculous history and has been disputed by various governments, groups, and sects.
The design of the statuette was conceived to portray how an ancient civilization produced such a piece: With tremendous care and meticulousness, but without certainty about Auriel's appearance. Therefore, it is a piece that directly refers to her, but without possessing her real image.

The first version created for the character did not have a very elaborate polish in the art and still had design ideas that did not harmonize with the rest of her characteristics. Therefore, a new design has been developed, maintaining the initial accepted idea, but increasing the level of detail, simplifying unnecessary details, and polishing the painting technique for a cleaner and more realistic style.
